002. [Video]
My, my...it seems that there's a good amount of you that really are quite the interesting lot - what with all the threatening and the yelling and the buildings blowing up and all that, it's almost like Bloodstone all over again. And believe me, I am grateful for that little reminder of home; thank you for not making this place boring for me, at the very least.
[...Reaver, why are you even here this afternoon...
Other than, perhaps, sheer boredom. Judging from the video itself, he's currently wandering around Violet City - don't worry, he's stopped for the sake of filming so there isn't motion-sickness-inducing Blair Witch Project-style crap going on, and he actually seems to have been in the process of checking the Gym out, if the surroundings are anything to judge by.
However, there's not much to do here, so video it is.]
Now, while I understand the popular style for posting on this...network of ours seems to lean towards being unnecessarily obscure in mentioning exactly what we're getting at or whom we're aiming it towards, or...or whatever the flavor of the day is at this point, it hardly matters in the end - I'll actually do you all the favor of asking at least one perfectly simple, straightforward question. Don't worry, it's nothing like "What do you have to return to" or "Sum up what you think of me in 10 words or less" or anything of the like - ah, but I can think of many ways to answer that latter one!
[All of them incredibly flattering, if he does say so himself. And believe me, he does say so himself.
He's quick to move on, however!]
At any rate, the question I pose to you is this, regarding the recent destruction of the lighthouse by the unnamed cackling individual - obviously, this place has ports, implying trade routes of some sort. At what location does this particular trade route end?
[He pauses for a moment, a soft noise happening just off-camera that implies he's drumming his fingertips lightly against something while he thinks. Probably the side of the 'Gear itself.]
And should you have no knowledge of that...well, I suppose you could just send me a message telling me what it is you do back in your respective worlds, or some reason why you think you're interesting or something. I've no problem with talking just to hear ourselves talk, after all, and if that's what you're going to contribute then who am I to stop you - I don't particularly care, pick a topic and if you become a bore then I'll tell you to get on with it.
But in the end, darlings, do get back to me on those trade routes, won't you?

[ACTION]
[Logan arrives in time to hear that last little bit of conversation with the 'Gear. He has to wonder just what Reaver wants with the trade routes, but he has a sinking feeling he already knows. Reaver was the pirate king for quite some time, and if he gets bored enough here then... prayer circle for Johto's ships, tbh.]
What do you need information about trade routes for?
[He's also here examining the Gym again. He fought the first trainer a week or so ago and he's back to fight the second to see if he can handle that one without spamming Potions every five seconds. Damn birds.]
no subject
But for now, he'll just smirk at you. He isn't displeased about the company, at any rate.]
I don't suppose you would believe "idle curiosity"?
no subject
Not at all. What are you planning?
[Because clearly you're planning something.]
no subject
That has yet to be seen, I'm afraid - after all, there's no sense in planning anything if I don't know what resources are available to me, now, is there?

[[That's got to be the most polite insult he's ever heard. Is it...even an insult, really....
....well whatever]]
I suppose I've been called worse.
[So much dismissive handwaving, however.]
Judging from our last conversation, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that that was your work; very well done, by the way.
[[Although really, he would kind of love to see you properly insult someone. It would be highly entertaining, at least.]]
And thankyou; it was the culmination of a few months of work. I do hope my...excitement over the results didn't dampen your opinion of me.
[[Not that he would really mind all that much if it did, but he's not here to argue semantics.]]
no subject
But we don't mention any of that.]
Oh, I wouldn't worry about that, were I you - let's say that I enjoy seeing passion at work. It says quite a lot about people, I find.

As for what I think makes me interesting... well. I have a rare disease.
[And in spite of that last statement, which is nonetheless quite true, he looks extremely healthy, well, besides his usual dark rings around his eyes. So maybe he should be asked to elaborate.]
no subject
[From the sound of it, this is, in fact, news - whether it's good or bad news has yet to be seen, because he's more or less muttering inaudibly to himself about it for a couple of seconds before his brain seems to click back over to Socializing Mode. At which point the feed is just getting another one of those cocksure smirks, like nothing just flitted through his pretty little head just now.]
And is that so? Dare I ask for details, or is it repulsive - because if it's repulsive, then believe me, I don't really want to know.
no subject
As for whether my disease is repulsive, it certainly was in my world of origin, seeing how many it drew away from me. Whether it is the same way in this world is entirely debatable... Conscience is the term for it here.
no subject
The latter part does have his attention, to some extent, though he doesn't seem terribly invested; he laughs a bit, the sound dark, quiet.]
Conscience, my dear? If anything, people have a bit too much of it here - a world without that sort of thing weighing it down sounds more like the ideal, as I'm concerned.

Dunno about trade routes, not my bit of doing at all. But, I'm always up for conversation!
[Because, really what else ultimately is there out here? Besides the occasional bit of chaos, explosions, freak superpowers, and general pokemon doings of course.]
Let's see here...I'm a musician, an' I'm from a kinda unique world from what I'm understanding about other people talkin'. Biggest difference about me personally s'that I really like it here. It's a nice gig in comparison.
And no, experiencing several cities getting bombed about thirty seconds after he entered them doesn't count.
But sure. You want to talk, we can talk. Why not.]
Something about this...unique world of yours making you not want to return?
[voice]
The only other port I've been informed of so far is the one in Vermillion, though I highly doubt it's the only one in the world-otherwise, this would be an extremely small world.
[OKAY, NOW FOR HIS FAVORITE SUBJECT]
Anyway, in my world, I have some renown as a magus-I suppose that would qualify as interesting, depending on what sort of world you happen to be from.
[And that is accompanied with the most dismissive handwave; the ones in Vermilion and Olivine will work for now.
So! Moving on to the...rest of...
...did you say what he thinks you just said
Because. That's. Ugh.]
A Will-user, are you? Hopefully you will be a bit less of an insufferable bore than the others I've met. Exactly how much renown do you have to your name?
[voice forever]
I am, yes-or, at least, my world's equivalent to that. To avoid boring you, I won't go into too many technical details, but I have an incredibly impressive lineage and numerous accomplishments to my name.
no subject
[You actually seem to have amused him with that, Kayneth.]
Your lineage really doesn't matter to me in the least, you know - if I cared about what your ancestors have done, I would have asked about that. But I didn't, now, did I?

I can't tell you anything about the trade routes here, but I can certainly tell you a little about myself~
[Are you ready for this amount of crazy, Reaver?]
I'm an artist - my specialty is life and death. There's nothing more beautiful than the last few moments of life right before it leaves their eyes... But I suppose you could also say I'm a murderer, if you really want to be blunt.
[He leans forward, resting his chin on his hands and grinning wickedly.]
Does that make me interesting, sir~?
[...excuse him, he's a little tryhard, okay.]
no subject
Well, well - it seems there are quite a few "artists" in this area, ones that work with some rather...macabre materials.
[He isn't entirely dismissive, however; his gaze is rather attentive behind all the smirking. He's not sure what to do with this one just yet, but he does have to give the kid credit for owning what it is he does. He can respect that much, if nothing else.]
And what draws you to create your masterpieces, my dear? Your...inspiration, if you will.
no subject
[His eyes light up at that, but it's quite obvious that there's still something distinctly off about them.]
My inspiration? Life and death, of course! There are other things - just how far can I push the boundaries of life and death? how can I cause the most suffering? what would be the greatest cool? - but I enjoy the last moments of life more than anything. I'd give anything to see it here... but unfortunately this place has some kind of spell on it or something. I can't kill here.
[...pout.]

Am I to assume you've tried?

[video] I'm sorry this is so delayed. What is memory, sob.
He never passes those opportunities by.
Besides, he can see that there are plenty of answers to Reaver's question already.]
I believe I've already mentioned this to you, but you could say I am a very important researcher in my world. I am [was] a general in one of my world's major military factions, where I command the research division. I also build machines for the military's use.
[He can go on for hours, but yeah. And most of this isn't even relevant anymore but he likes to sound important okay.]
Don't apologize, it's cool! Told you I'd still be around
...huh. And of course you actually say something interesting. He may have to consider humoring you now...
...oh well, what the hell.]
And what sort of things did you specialize in, exactly...? I understand mechanics, but for what purpose?
Thanks ♥
Except he doesn't really want to delve into describing Fomicry and whatnot especially since it's kind of a sore spot...nor does he want to talk about it on a public channel. So instead he'll keep it simple for the time being.]
In general, I created large robots to be used in battle. These robots were able to fly, use spells with my aid, and of course, were fully equipped with weapons for melee. Drills, mostly. They are quite effective.
No worries!
