[Well, at the very least Reaver has been out attempting to train properly today - although at this point, he's doing it simply because the boredom is outweighing his dislike of the snow. On the plus side, this means he's far less likely to beat the crap out of his Pokémon in the name of discipline and/or just wanting to beat the crap out of things; on the negative, he's getting a bit...ah. Experimental.

And this would be why the video today is coming from some route...somewhere; it's a bit hard to tell due to the lack of discernible landmarks behind him as he settles, trying to find some sort of comfortable position as he begins - oh, is that the lighthouse back there? Somewhere outside of Olivine, then, though it isn't exactly clear where - clearly, he's found a hill or something to film on top of, as the vantage point is a bit...high up, from the looks.

However! He's looking self-satisfied with himself today, as always; his eyes are rather bright and attentive, though he's a bit flushed due to all the cold - at least he doesn't look quite as pallored as he usually does.]

Well! I must say that after taking the advice given to me by some of you last time, some of these creatures really can be made decidedly less useless - although whatever these 'HM'...'TM'...things can teach them, some of the things they figure out how to do on their own are quite fascinating indeed~

[...Reaver, no one likes where this is going. Outside of maybe you, because you look very pleased with where this is going.]

By the way - for those of you who may have been wondering what these stupid animals do during that odd period where they disappear from the battlefield during certain attacks...the answer is absolutely nothing, as far as I can tell.

[And judging by that "Aw man :<" noise that just happened, he's standing on Lady Elizabeth; odd, as he definitely isn't using Dive, which is one of the more predictable delayed-attack moves given her species...

He just sort of shrugs, however, smirking up a storm.]

But if this place is willing to grant me the ability to drop a creature the size of a building onto the battlefield, then who am I to argue?

[And with that, he tosses the 'Gear down to...something far closer to the ground; it falls a good distance before it's caught by what appear to be tentacles - presumably his Octillery, then, as Rachel will at least keep a grip on the stupid thing and not drop it and let it shatter.

Not like it matters for long, however, at least as far as seeing anything else goes; there's a brief glimpse of Reaver jumping up from Lady Elizabeth's back, the motion agile and blatantly flamboyant, before the creature simply comes crashing down from on high. The resulting snowsplosion is an appropriately impressive one, obscuring anything else from being seen on camera until the feed shuts off abruptly because what the hell, trainer -

...and this sort of thing is the reason why Wailords really shouldn't be able to learn Bounce. Specifically speaking, Reaver is an idiot. AT LEAST...HE PRESUMABLY LANDED ON THE WHALE AND NOT THE GROUND...?]

[ACTION]

[And a good afternoon to you, too, Johto! And it...is a good afternoon, weather-wise, if brisk as all get-out; it seems no one has informed Reaver that the onset of winter is a perfectly good reason to not be doing anything in relation to the ocean because the sea air is going to be cold as hell, and as such he is currently standing atop a giant whale, alternating between looking generally annoyed with his hands planted firmly on his hips, and gesturing about with that metal cane of his like mad flailing is going out of style. Occasionally he lashes out, mostly in the form of kicking at her, driving his heel down onto her head like that's going to have any effect at all; at least the Wailord seems to generally have patience for her trainer, as opposed to refusing to have mercy on his comparatively breakable human body and mauling him. Or simply rolling over and depositing him in the water. No, she seems to be genuinely wanting to please, even if she's more than slightly confused (and, from the look on her face, more than slightly...ah, simple, to put it gently).

So at least Reaver has that much to be grateful for, even if he doesn't realize it yet - he's a bit too preoccupied with the part where Lady Elizabeth (...that would be the massive goddamn whale taking up space in your harbor, sorry about that Olivine) still doesn't seem to comprehend exactly what he wants her to do. After a while he just gives up on trying to get her to do anything and lets himself drop down to settle on her head, legs hanging idly in front of her face where they're crossed at the knee, idly twirling that cane in his hand and trying not to sulk too badly. Because this is Johto and she is a three-story whalecondo and Reaver quite simply does what he wants.

He does address her after a moment, however.]

You're fortunate that you're at least somewhat more useful than that fish, you know.

[In response to that, she...makes noises at him. See! She's useful! Useful is good!

To which Reaver sighs and idly swings his leg back to kick at her a bit without bothering to stand up, just because honey, you're dumb.]

[Well, since he hardly sees any point in remaining frustrated forever and he does have a device that's entirely capable of polling the audience, those who aren't present for the whale-kicking spree that he's been going on will be treated to a video eventually; he seems to have gotten down from his...noble steed there, though that really just means that whatever scenery is behind him is blocked out entirely by whaleface while Lady Elizabeth tries to figure out what he's doing.

"What he's doing" for the time being is holding the 'Gear one-handed at a bit of a distance, giving what's best described as a rather spectacular Facebook shot with decidedly less duckface; the other hand is visible on the feed, one of the HM discs pinned between his index and middle fingers.]

It seems I've managed to collect a fair few of these, in my time here; it's obvious they're supposed to be used for something, though really, it's not as though it's immediately plain why. I'm sure this isn't an unpopular, or even an uncommonly expressed bit of opinion, but as I'm currently the one dealing with it then I'm afraid you're going to listen to it one more time, for my sake - having to teach a creature Surf or Fly when it's obviously capable of naturally transporting at least one, if not several, humans with absolutely no effort...why in the world is this even a thing that happens?

But that isn't the point here, really - the point is that I have no idea what to do with these discs or how they're properly utilized, and every method I can think of to attempt doing so is probably not acceptable by any world's standards, much less this one. These aren't exactly anything like what we have in my world, and somehow I suspect that they wouldn't work the same way here even if they were.

So. How, exactly, am I supposed to put this collection of mine to good use, hm? And yes, I've read that book of ours - somehow breaking them seems a bit counterintuitive.
